So this was a super fail on my part, but considering it was my first go with watercolor painting and stuff, I feel I should be forgiven. :p The concept was sound, the execution was not. It was supposed to be like a nebula as her hair. But I've no idea how to do that with paints, nor was I using a reference. That's one of the fun thing about sketch cards, though! Little doodles, man! Little doodles! At least Tori Amos' face is always recognizable... I think. c: I gave up and markered her skin and dress. I'm a quitter. This was at my little 'Art Party' at my house. xD It was fun!

Done in Prismacolor markers, Microns, Prismacolor watercolor pencils, and white gouache. And pure fail.

Watercolor is probably the hardest paint to learn to work with. ☺  It is very transparent, you need to paint layers and let it dry between layers.  You have to paint one or two shades darker than you want because watercolors tend to dry lighter than they look wet.  ☺  Also, traditional watercolorists never use the white; they use the paper page for white.  The white is pretty opaque because of the titanium pigment and it throws off all the other colors.  I have some free info on watercolors if you want it.
